Ntchisi Forest Reserve
This Forest Reserve is amongst Malawi’s rremaining indigenous rain forests and ccovers an area of about 60 square kilometres surrounded by rolling hills and traditional villages.
There is plentiful of birdlife, bushbucks, monkeys, wild pigs, baboons and hyenas and wild pigs as well as a black leopard that has been sighted on the mountain near the lodge. The Montane Forest and grassland provide a contrasting habitat of open forest and bush. It is an excellent hiking and mountain biking territory gives a stunning display of wildflowers each year when the rains start.
What to do:
1. Bird Watching
Ntchisi Forest Reserve is a habitat for several bird species because natural and well taken care of ecosystems. Local guides will be at your exposure to take you around.
2. Guided Walks
Take a short day or long day guided walk through the forest to learn about the forest’s establishment and how it supports the local villages surrounding it.
3. Flower Tours
During the rainy season Ntchisi Forest Reserve offers a variety of naturally grown flowers that pays back all your efforts of visiting this small paradise.
