Lake
Malawi (The Warm Heart of Africa) has a lot to offer as a tourist destination. Apart from the legendary Malawian friendliness, what captures you first about this vivid country is its geographical diversity. Slicing through the landscape in a trough formed by the Great Rift Valley is the Africa’s third-largest and world’s fifth-largest fresh water lake: Lake Malawi, a shimmering mass of clear water, with its depth swarmed with close to 400 species of Cichlid fish. Whether for scuba-diving, kayaking, snorkeling or enjoying sunrises and sunsets on its beaches of Cape Maclear, Chintheche and Nkhatabay or taking boat trips to its famous Likoma Island, Nankoma Island, Domwe Island or Mumbo Island, a visit to Lake Malawi is a must.
Wildlife
The country also boats of its game in the well-stocked Liwonde National Park, Majete Wildlife Reserve, Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve and Nyika National Park. Mountains and Plateaus
Mulanje Mountain which is also known as the Mulanje Massif and nicknamed as the “Island in the Sky” by the locals is Malawi’s most hiked mountain with its highest point Sapitwa towering 3002m above sea level.
